These Terms of Service apply to beautyemporio.is and to all purchases made through our online shop. The website and shop are operated by Beauty Emporio Hársnyrtistofa ("Beauty Emporio", "we", "us" or "our"). By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

2. Our online shop

Our online shop sells hair care and beauty products that we use and recommend in the salon. We do our best to describe and show each product accurately. Colours and packaging may look slightly different on your screen, and manufacturers may change packaging without notice.

Salon services (hair, colour, makeup and bridal) are booked separately through our booking system and are covered by the cancellation terms shown when you book.

3. Orders

When you place an order, you make an offer to buy the products in your cart. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received your order. A contract is formed when we confirm that your order is ready for pick-up. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is out of stock or a price was shown incorrectly. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in Icelandic krónur (ISK) and include VAT. Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify's secure payment system. We may change our prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

5. Pick-up in salon

We do not ship orders. All orders are collected from the salon at Listhúsið, Engjateigur 17–19, 105 Reykjavík, during our opening hours. We will email you when your order is ready. Please bring your order confirmation. We will keep your order for 30 days. If it has not been collected by then, we will contact you, and we may cancel the order and refund you.

6. Returns and refunds

Your right to cancel a purchase and to return products is described in our Refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Using the products

Please read the label and instructions before using any product. If you have allergies or sensitive skin or scalp, check the ingredients and do a patch test first. Advice we give in the salon or online is general guidance and does not replace medical advice.

8. Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Please let us know straight away if you think someone else has used it.

9. Website content

The text, photos, logos and design on this website belong to Beauty Emporio or are used with permission. You may view and share them for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, sell or reuse them without our written permission.

10. Third-party services

Our website uses third-party services, including Shopify for the shop and payments, and links to other sites such as our booking system and Instagram. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.

11. Liability

We are responsible for the products we sell in accordance with Icelandic consumer law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer. Apart from that, we are not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

12. Privacy

How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.

14. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by Icelandic law. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at salon@beautyemporio.is and we will do our best to resolve it. If we cannot reach an agreement, you can refer the matter to the Complaints Committee for Goods and Services (Kærunefnd vöru- og þjónustukaupa) or to the Icelandic courts.
